As we enter this holiday
season, I pray for world peace. My
husband and I were in Europe when the Paris attacks occurred and I observed people flooding the churches on Sunday morning …all
religions …all nationalities with a combined desire for unified peace and a
sincere mourning for all the innocent lives lost. It was so reverent. The sound of the Cathedral of Our Lady ringing her famous bell for each life lost was an experience I will always remember.
Earlier in the week, we were going about our business...everything was normal. I felt so fortunate that I had the opportunity to visit Peter Paul Rubens' home, while admiring so many beautiful paintings, then sitting in front
of Anthony Van Dyck’s statue just taking in the scenery… I was in “Art Heaven”. To stand in front of the original painting of
Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden that I’ve seen in so many religious books (namely..the Bible) was
so exalting.
